Coastal Erosion and Monitoring Aerial Survey Contract Awarded
Angell Surveys have been awarded a three year contract by the Isle of Man Government to study coastal erosion at Kirk Michael.
Aerial surveys will be carried out on a regular schedule until 2022 at low tide and the results will be compared to produce both a quantitative and qualitative assessment.
Changes since the Government’s LiDAR (laser) survey of 2013 will be taken into account.
The study will provide the Isle of Man Government with up to date rates of change, much more detail on how this takes place, and therefore a better overall understanding of its likely impacts, taking account of climate change, on the fragile island ecosystem.
