Land survey for solar, battery storage and grid infrastructure.
Topographic survey, aerial mapping and LiDAR for solar farm development, battery energy storage systems and associated grid infrastructure. From site selection and planning through to construction monitoring and as-built — accurate land survey data that drives the design and consent process.
Survey data from site selection to energisation.
Solar farm and battery energy storage development begins with land. Accurate topographic survey of candidate sites gives developers and their design teams the terrain data needed for yield modelling, panel layout optimisation, drainage strategy and civil design — well before planning submission. Our UAV photogrammetric survey delivers sub-5cm DTM and orthomosaic across sites of any scale, with OSGB36 georeferencing and full survey control documentation suitable for planning authority and DNO submission.
For battery energy storage system (BESS) developments and grid connection infrastructure, we provide topographic survey of compound sites, access route corridors and substation plots alongside LiDAR capture of existing structures and overhead line infrastructure. Cable corridor survey and volumetric analysis supports detailed design of trenching works, ducting routes and compound grading — reducing the risk of unforeseen ground conditions and programme overrun during construction.
Throughout the construction phase, repeat aerial survey provides progress records, earthworks monitoring and as-built terrain verification. Final as-built surveys document the completed site — including panel array extents, drainage swales, access tracks and compound infrastructure — providing the landowner, developer and grid operator with an accurate spatial record from the point of energisation onwards.
